Device color aside, there’s nothing new here, but we know we’d be breaking hearts if we didn’t get all close and personal with the only color we’ve not had a chance to play with. . . . → Read More: Nokia Lumia 900 in white hands-on

Canadians may still have to wait a bit longer for some official word of the Lumia 900′s possible debut in the country (the latest rumors suggest it may be heading to Rogers), but there’s now at least a firm date for the launch of its slightly smaller counterpart. Intelligent Design And The Modern Cellphone

Image large.jpeg

I’ve been mulling this concept over for a long while and it took Josh Helfferich’s single image to bring the concept into sharp focus. My thesis (and you won’t like this) is that every major “flagship” phone in the Western market is now made in the same mold, with the same trade dress, with one goal in mind: to fool the casual observer into thinking that everything is an iPhone. While you can argue on the outliers, the truth is right there . . . → Read More: Intelligent Design And The Modern Cellphone

Nokia’s Pulse app looks and smells familiar to anyone who’s ever used Google Latitude . The difference being that the Finnish handset maker has the benefit of Navteq’s $8 billion geolocation technology that it picked up back in 2008 . Now the Haus of Elop is opening a Boston skunkworks that’ll port the app, as well as future social software over to Android and iOS. . . . → Read More: Nokia’s social apps coming to Android and iOS: lions expected to lie down with lambs shortly
