Lost In Mobile: Beta Testing

The days of PDA-247 are numbered… PDA-247 is a large site and currently holds more than 6,000 news articles, reviews and thoughts. The current setup simply isn’t working well and it’s time to move away from WordPress and a standard host- 247 is close to hitting traffic and memory limits in 3 separate areas. I have decided to take the opportunity to change (for the final time!) the name of the site to something more generic and Lost In Mobile is the chosen one.

The Sharp AQUOS

Sharp has announced the AQUOS which is a clamshell Android 2.3 smartphone with a 16 Megapixel camera. The rest of the specs are quite good and even infrared is included, but I have to say that it looks like a clamshell for the sake of making a clamshell to me. From MobileCrunch – “If you thought Android and clamshell handsets won’t fit, think again: Sharp today introduced [JP] the so-called AQUOS PHONE THE HYBRID 007SH, a flip phone running on Android 2.3.

Hidden Object games: so basic, so good

There have been many iOS game sales recently and by chance I came across Big City Adventure: New York City for a mere £0.59 ($0.99). I didn’t read the description properly and was annoyed with myself for buying a hidden object game. I am not 5 years old, I want to play in-depth strategy games that stretch my mind and not spend my time looking for hidden objects in a picture.

The latest Gartner figures show few surprises in terms of smartphone industry trends, but they will still be of interest to those who want to know what the next big thing will be. Android up from 9.6% to 36% market share Symbian down from 44.2% to 27.4% market share iOS up from 15.3% to 16.8% market share BlackBerry down from 19.7% to 12.9% Microsoft has dropped from 6.8% to 3.6% (Windows Mobile to Windows Phone transformation) and the others make up a mere 3.3% (down from 4.4% last year

250,000 Playbooks sold to date
