It’s not just the green initiative – Verizon Wireless also wants to increase the efficiency of its operations and make things easier for the customers with paperless receipts, which are already available at more than 300 locations across the country. As a My Verizon user you can access your receipts from the newly redesigned “My Documents and Receipts” section where you’ll also find rebate forms (when applicable). And since the “innovative digital receipt” creates a “simple, convenient and secure experience for customers,” the Big Read carrier plans to bring the capability at its more than 2,000 U.S.

It’s incredible how high-end smartphones are getting more affordable so quickly. We still think of the Sensation XE as one of the best smartphones HTC has ever made (after Rezound), yet it’s available for next to nothing on an affordable plan. We have Phones 4U to “blame” for this deal which lists the Beats Audio-powered Android device with a 19.95 GBP price tag with 21.50 GBP/month plan.

ASUS released a new software update for the original (not the new Prime model) Eee Pad Transformer tablet. Unfortunately this release doesn’t come with a brand new version of Android (4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich) — rather, it’s a maintenance update that makes sure most of the things run even better. In other words, some of the bugs have been squashed, some apps updated and few things under the hood changed to improve the overall performance

If you recall, we’re talking about a Windows Phone Mango device with still unconfirmed guts — though we know it rocks a 4-inch screen

Apple’s annual 12 Days of iTunes giveaway started yesterday with a free Coldplay album for UK iTunes users. In order to participate and get the freebies, you should download the 12 Days app from where you’ll be able to grab free music from the iTunes Festival: London, which was held earlier in the year. At the moment three Coldplay tracks are available, including Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, God Put a Smile Upon Your Face, and Fix You — both as music files and as live videos.

Anyone still excited about the Motorola Droid X2? I know I’m not, but then again – I’m a geek and I’m definitely not in C Spire’s targeted market (plus I don’t live in the States). For those who do live in the coverage are of the operator, another Android option emerged – Milestone X2, which essentially is the same phone Verizon is offering as the Droid X2
