Motorola Atrix Gingerbread International Simultaneous Update

Motorola’s been thrown a lot of flack for its slow European updates for Android phones in the past.  But, Motorola’s European extension plans to rectify this inequality once and for all with more timely updates. According to the Motorola Vice President of International Marketing, Andrew Morley, Motorola “desires” a universal Gingerbread release date for Atrix phones in the United Kingdom as well as United States of America

Sprint’s BlackBerry PlayBook Delayed, Again

BlackBerry PlayBook for Sprint (Delay) Sprint and BlackBerry confirmed back in March that the brand new PlayBook platform would make its way to Sprint retail locations with full CDMA support over the summer . The first announced release date was April 19th. But, we soon learned that the PlayBook would be subjected to a May 8th delayed release .

Samsung Galaxy S II Root Achieved

Samsung Galaxy S II Members of the phone community over at XDA-Developers have achieved root access on Samsung’s Galaxy S II device by modifying the device at the kernel level. User Chainfire has created a modified “insecure” kernel that will allow Galaxy S II users to obtain root shell access. After flashing this kernel,  one can use the famed “psneuter” exploit to achieve full root with the Superuser application

Google To Unveil Nexus Surprise Today (Update: Android 2.3.4!)

Google Nexus Surprise It looks like Google’s planning to make an addition to the Nexus lineup today. While the “surprise” is most likely going to be additional carrier(s), we could potentially be in for much more. It’s now well known that the Nexus S is heading to Sprint on May 8th , so this wouldn’t make for much of a surprise.

Atrix 4G Update to 1.8.3: Android 2.2.2, HSUPA

Motorola Atrix 4G v4.1.83 Update Motorola and AT&T will jointly push a brand new over-the-air update titled v4.1.83 within the next several days. This update will bring a plethora of bugfixes to the Atrix, but most importantly it enables HSUPA network access. A Motorola changelog for the update reveals that it will improve data speeds, connectivity consistency, and call functionality.
